“EMPOWERING COMMUNITIES” is a project in helping people Rag Picking especially women to become independent and self sustaining through sewing centres. We are setting up a learning centre for training individuals and groups in sewing, tailoring and dress making. This project offers creative tools and machinery along with vocational training in an effort to offer hope to the hopeless. The Rag Pickers will be able to work in a decent environment.This project will rebuild people's lives to start small sewingrelated businesses. This project will teach new skills to young women & men who are being given a new chance in life after struggling through poverty and homelessness.

Community is important no matter where you live. The mission of the Sewing Machine Project is to give people a tool that will not only help them mend their own lives but also give them a way to take an active role in the rebuilding of their communities.
